    How to Make Mango Juice

    Ingredients

Fresh Mangoes. For this juice, you'll need ripe mangoes. If they are still not ripe, the mango juice won't be as sweet and smooth. The best mangoes are Alphonso Mangoes that you can find during mango season, they have a sweet and buttery flesh. To make mango juice, you can get any type of ripe mangoes that you have available. If you are lucky enough to be in a warm country, you'll probably get the nicest ones! Indian mangoes are very sweet and tasty if you can get them during peak season.

Coconut water. We like adding coconut water instead of regular water. It's more refreshing and adds a lovely flavor to the juice. You can also use regular cold water. We recommend using cold coconut water, so the juice will be ready to enjoy once blended.

Lime juice. Just a few drops of fresh lime juice are needed to add some tanginess to this juice. This ingredient is optional, but we love adding it. Alternatively, you can use lemon juice.

    Homemade Mango Juice Ingredients

    Step-by-step Method

    1. Using a sharp knife, start by peeling the mangoes and cutting the flesh away from the pit into small pieces. Check Simply Recipes to learn how to peel a mango in no time.
    2. Add the mango pulp, coconut water, and lime juice to a blender jar. At this point, you can add some ice cubes if you want to make this drink extra refreshing.
    3. Blend until smooth. If the mixture is too thick, you can add more coconut water to achieve your desired consistency.
    4. Pour the fresh juice into the serving glasses and serve immediately, or refrigerate for a few hours to have it cooler. Enjoy!

    • Mix in a bit of fresh ginger for a spicy kick.
    • Blend in some yogurt for a creamy mango lassi.
    • Add a splash of rum for a tropical cocktail.
    • Add other fresh fruit such as strawberries, bananas, pineapple juice, or orange juice. You can make this delicious mango smoothie recipe if you feel like something more filling.
    • Adjust the thickness of the juice. You can make a thinner juice by adding more coconut water, and a thicker juice by reducing the amount of liquid or adding more mango pieces.

    Serving Suggestions

At home, we normally enjoy this tropical delight as a snack. Both kids love it, especially during hot summer days by the pool. What's better than a refreshing glass of mango juice?

This mango juice is perfect on its own, but it also pairs well with a variety of dishes. Try serving it with a spicy curry to balance out the heat, or with a light salad for a refreshing meal. We highly recommend serving it with your Indian or Thai-style dishes.

    Store

You can store your homemade juice in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days. Just make sure to give it a good stir before drinking.

Yes, you can use frozen mangoes if fresh ones aren’t available. Just make sure to thaw them before blending. You can also use mango puree, or canned mango.
